Festival AfrikAsia 2023 : les cultures africaines et asiatiques à l’honneur

The very first Afro-Asian cultural festival is being held on Saturday June 3, 2023 at the Town Hall of the 17th arrondissement in Paris. The ambition is to make Afro-Asian culture known to the general public by offering a day rich in festivities, artistic demonstrations, talent exhibitions, and culinary tastings.


Organized by the AfrikAsia Culture association, and in partnership with the Town Hall of the 17th arrondissement of Paris, the festival will take place in the beautiful setting of the Jacques Chirac hall of the Town Hall, open free to the public from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

In a festive, friendly, and family atmosphere, the day offers a nice program of debates, discoveries, and wonders:

9 a.m.: welcome of the public with a glass of friendship, and visit of the exhibition stands of the day

10 a.m.: opening speech by the Mayor of the 17th arrondissement of Paris, as well as by the President of AfrikAsia Culture

10:45 a.m.: speech by the spokesperson for the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) on the theme "La Francophonie, vector of intercultural exchanges between Africa and Asia"

11 a.m.: round table on the theme “Africa-Asia, what cultural challenges for the future?” », with the participation of two UNESCO representatives

12 p.m.-2 p.m.: culinary tasting with dishes and flavors from African countries (Moroccan, Senegalese, Congolese cuisine) and Asian (Chinese, Vietnamese, Filipino, Indian, Indonesian, Afghan cuisine)

2 p.m.-5.30 p.m.: Bollywood and Filipino dance performances, poetry reading, Vietnamese choir, Gi Gong demonstration and fashion show

5:30-6 p.m.: Closing remarks by the President of AfrikAsia and an end-of-day cocktail
